I took the box and I dusted it down Picked the lights and the tinsel out Jumbled knots and lines of twisted wire Like a tangled broken dream Put the tree up in the usual space Well you know that it’s seen better days Then I folded all the branches out Trying to make things new again CHORUS Well we know that everything’s not right But we both can’t just let things slide I just want to have this Christmas time Like the way it was before Candle flames reflect on candy canes The light reminds me of a happier day I just want to have this Christmas time Like the way it was before SOLO Christmas tunes pour out the radio Some are happy some just make you blue I remember midnight in the church Singing songs and holding hands CHORUS

Making Christmas Feel Right Lend your brother a hand Help your sister to stand this Christmas In every part of the land People struggle to live this Christmas Do all that you can, give a bit of yourself Making Christmas feel right Take a walk downtown Have a look at the Christmas lights all around Meeting family and friends Share the love that’s what Christmas is all about CHORUS Hear all the Christmas sounds The songs they play around this time of the year Make you happy inside Take you back to your Christmas days as a child CHORUS BRIDGE There’s another side That you see if you read between all the lines Not everything glistens bright And every dream won’t come true this Christmas time SOLO The decorations are glowing The Christmas tree is an old familiar sight And all the presents below it Are a message for us to give when we can CHORUS X 2 Do all that you can, give a bit of yourself Making Christmas feel right

You’ve gone away, you’re so far away Sitting here thinking it won’t be long Til’ it’s Christmastime Such a holy time Children will be singing Old folks will be praying Walking around hear the Christmas sounds Bright coloured lights shining in the night And it’s Christmastime Such a holy time Children will be singing Old folks will be praying Chorus But right now, my mind is full of memories And I can’t find no peace at all When I should be dancing to the music At this precious Christmastime At this holy Christmastime Some say that riches are all you need All for the money, the power and greed At this Christmastime Such a holy time Children will be singing Old folks will be praying The war starts again, and the news will say Maybe someday peace will have its day At this Christmastime Such a holy time Children will be singing Old folks will be praying Chorus But right now, my mind is full of memories And I can’t find no peace at all When I should be dancing to the music At this precious Christmastime At this holy Christmastime Solo If we could forget all those things we said And start here again we could find a way At this Christmastime Such a holy time Children will be singing Old folks will be praying Hoping that you will come back to stay And we can still find a better day When it’s Christmastime Such a holy time Children will be singing Old folks will be praying Chorus x 2 - Finish

Lost out in the fog All alone on an empty river And you can’t recall How it feels with the ground below you Keep this ship afloat When the hope’s all gone Make it to the shore again Chorus: Now you’re following a star You’ve been battle-worn and weary Look towards the light to guide you home If you could turn back all the years Try to pick up all the pieces Look towards the light to guide you home When you can’t go on And you can’t figure what you’re fighting for And the race is run When the spirit and strength is almost gone Get back to the town Where you once belonged A place where you can be as one Chorus: Bridge As the darkness comes and shadows fall around you voices start to call, and they will find you Solo Keep this ship afloat When the hope’s all gone Make it to the shore again Chorus Look towards the light to guide you home Look towards the light to guide you home

about

“Lend Your Brother A Hand” is a new 4-track EP of original songs. The songs are alternative Christmas themed songs.
Just a little bit of my thoughts about what the songs are about.
Christmastime Like The Way It Was Before:
A longing to get back to simpler, happier times. Taking out the old tree and decorations remind us of previous years. That can bring back happy or sad memories.
Making Christmas Feel Right:
We are living in tough times. People are struggling. The EP title comes from this song.
Lend your brother a hand,
Help your sister to stand this Christmas,
In every part of the land,
People struggle to live this Christmas,
Do all that you can,
Give a bit of yourself,
Making Christmas feel right
At This Holy Christmastime
The war starts again and the news will say,
Maybe someday peace will have it’s way,
At this Christmastime,
Such a holy time,
Children will be singing,
Old folks will be praying
Following A Star
You’ve been battle-worn and weary,
Look towards the light to guide you home
